3A- Your Entrepreneurship Story
My uncle is an entrepreneur and started his own company a
couple years back. He made this portal that would help benefit the healthcare
segment of our economy. It is an online portal that is similar to Pinterest in
which businesses, companies, and wholesalers “post” their products on this site
and then the hospitals can “scroll through” this page and it can match up need
with the solution. It also has the idea of Tinder where you can make a
connection with these people if you are looking/providing similar things and
can make purchases and sales.
When my uncle told me about this process and what all he
went through he made it sound extremely interesting to me. He also comes and
talks to students at UF who have had entrepreneurial ideas and have gone forward
with them and hear my uncle’s thoughts and tips. He got me into the idea of
entrepreneurship because of how fascinating his life was and what he did. That
made me interested in the thought behind entrepreneurship; interest and further
exploration is the reason for why I am taking this class and looking forward to
what I find.
Hi John. I like your post about your entrepreneurship experience. It is wonderful that you have a great mentor. Your uncle has combined two sectors of business where there is always growth and opportunity. I am fascinated by the growth in technology. I understand how it could be like Pinterest but I didn't understand the connection to Tinder. Maybe you could explain further. What is really exciting is that your uncle seems to have ignited your entrepreneurial spirit. Perhaps he could be a guest speaker in our class.

ReplyDeleteYour uncle is very skilled in the entrepreneurship industry by you sharing what he has come up with. What makes his life so fascinating? I would love to meet up with your uncle on campus some day to learn more about his creation. There seems to be a lot of buying and selling apps out there now a days and it may be time for someone out there to invent something new that would benefit the life of a lot of people. I feel like you could have expanded more on why you took this class but I enjoyed reading your article.

I also think it is amazing that your uncle has created something that can improve the health and lives of so many patients and families. I definitely would love to learn more about your uncle's company, and what inspired him to have this idea.

ReplyDeleteI also find entrepreneurship to be of interest because of the thoughts and ideas behind it. I too decided to take this class to dive deeper into the world behind entrepreneurship. Your uncle sounds like a wonderful mentor that came up with a brilliant tool. I am sure it has helped so many health professionals to help people and I enjoy the good that is behind his startup.
